ALBERTA PORK
The Alberta Pork Producers Development Corporation (Alberta Pork) is a non-profit organization representing the province’s registered hog producers before government, media, and other stakeholders. Alberta Pork is a key player within Alberta, and strives to give Albertans the best possible pork by focusing on pigs, people, planet, and progress.
THE PROJECT:
Alberta Pork came to Media Shop Collective with the objective of creating an informative and engaging online resource that caters to both producers, and the general community by offering up-to-date news and insights about Alberta Pork, the agricultural industry, and its operations. Media Shop Collective was able to fulfill this objective through three different phases that included branding, a website refresh, and branding assets.

THE PROCESS
BRANDING
Media Shop Collective was able to create a comprehensive content strategy and plan for the overall look and feel of the brand. We wanted to create a unique look for Alberta Pork, so we created a stylized ‘A’ in ‘Alberta’, featuring a curved peak to mimic the distinct shape of a pig’s ear, symbolizing the core of the pork industry. The peak was carefully designed to also represent the Alberta landscape, echoing the province’s rolling hills and mountainous terrain.
We also used the colours of blue and orange as per request. Blue colours mean trust, and orange accents bring warmth and energy, while simultaneously evoking Alberta’s farmlands. We were able to incorporate vibrant imagery to visually represent the agricultural industry and livestock. The new brand colours, logo design, and consistent typography were utilized throughout Alberta Pork’s assets including their website and marketing collateral to reinforce their strong brand identity.
WEB DESIGN
To begin our website refresh, Media Shop Collective conducted an in-depth audit, analyzing all aspects of the site. We then designed a UX website that was both intuitive and user friendly, with a layout that appealed to both producers and the general public. We implemented a clear navigation menu that was able to guide visitors through the site, and help them navigate through the use of dropdown menus for specific sections of interest underneath each navigation link. We were also able to create a responsive design, for seamless browsing across various devices.
Within the website, we were able to develop comprehensive content sections to explain Alberta Pork’s mission, activities, and role within the agricultural industry. We also created a dedicated news section to feature the latest updates and developments in the industry. Throughout all of this, we ensured to follow SEO best practices and optimized the content with relevant keywords to improve search engine visibility and reach a wider audience. We also ensured to incorporate all of the branding elements seamlessly throughout the site.










MARKETING COLLATERAL
Media Shop Collective created a wide variety of additional marketing collateral for Alberta Pork. These assets included custom business cards, branded slideshow templates, magazine advertisements, and quarterly reporting documents. Throughout all of these assets, we were sure to use all of their branding elements and ensure everything was seamless across all aspects of Alberta Pork.
